Wowsers!

These really are wonderful pieces. Thank you for sharing.

Ok, now someone please tell me what "Paverpol" is. It is difficult to tell from these images, but they look like they may be made with a sort of "cheese cloth" that has some sort of stiffening agent applied. confused

Paverpol is like a watered down plaster of paris, but when dry is like stone and can be used outside. All kinds of materials are used, I.E. cotton fabrics, Batik and so many more. We made a commissioned very big fairy recently using Paverpol and polymer clay (and some great tricks Wink )

Those who use it will go beyond my short description, ask the group moderator for some great tips.

Sounds interesting! Just might be something that this old guy could work with. I have done some modeling, well a whole lot actually, with plaster of paris. This is not using molds, but rather working really fast once it begins to set to make a rough model. Then using knives, scrapers, picks and what-have-you to more or less sculpt the object. Had a lot of fun with it, but that was some 40 to 50 years ago.

If there is now something similar that doesn't dry so fast it might be fun to try my hand at it. I will keep tuned to this forum to learn a bit more, and at the same time see if that material is available here in North Bay. I may have to go to Toronto to find it.
